Hoefling Truck & Tractor originated in 1941 as Hoeflings/Riggins, a partnership between Leo Hoefling and Cletus Riggins. In 1943, Hoefling purchased the dealership from International Harvester and the business was incorporated as Hoefling Truck and Tractor.

During World War II new ag equipment was difficult to acquire, so the business was built primarily around used equipment and repairs. From 1944 to 1947, the business also included an Oldsmobile dealership.

L.R. Horrall joined the company in 1945, serving as vice president, parts department manager and service department manager until his retirement in 1980.

Geoffrey H. Price joined Hoeflings in 1947 and served as secretary/treasurer of the corporation and business manager. He retired in 1990.

Louise Fields came to work in the parts department and stayed nearly 30 years.
